For any question about this policy or your personal data, you can contact us using the details above.
What personal data we collect
When you use the contact form on this website, we collect:
-
First name and last name
-
Phone number
-
Email address
-
Any message or information you choose to include
We do not collect payment information, ID documents, or financial data through this website. (Those are only ever collected later, directly and separately, if you engage us as your seller’s or buyer's agent — covered by a separate agreement, not this website.)
Like most websites, this site may also automatically collect some technical information when you visit — such as your browser type, general location (country/city level), and how you interact with the site — through the hosting platform (Wix) and any analytics tools we use. See "Cookies" below.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
We collect and use this information to:
-
Respond to your enquiry or message
-
Follow up about properties, buying, or selling in Mallorca, if you've asked us to
-
Keep basic records of client and prospective-client communications
The legal basis for this is your consent (you chose to submit the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services.
We do not use your contact-form information for anything else — we don't sell it, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Who we share data with
We use the following service providers to run this website and respond to enquiries, who may process your data on our behalf:
-
Wix.com — our website hosting and contact-form provider. Wix may process data outside the EU/EEA; Wix maintains its own data protection safeguards, details of which are in Wix's own Privacy Policy.
-
Our own email providers, to receive and reply to your message.
-
Usercentrics (cookie consent management; records your cookie choices).
-
Google (Google Ads and measurement tools, only if you accept marketing or analytics cookies; and Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our contact form from spam).
We only share the data needed for these services, and they may not use it for their own purposes beyond what their own privacy terms and our agreements allow.
We do not share your data with any other third party unless required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep contact-form submissions and related correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and maintain a record of the enquiry — typically no longer than 2–3 years after our last contact with you, unless you later become a client, in which case retention follows our client-file obligations under Spanish law.
International transfers
Some of our providers, including Google and Wix, may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. When this happens, we rely on safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (where the provider is certified under it, as Google LLC and Wix.com Inc. are) or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards by emailing maca@macamarealestate.com.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
-
Access the personal data we hold about you
-
Correct any inaccurate data
-
Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), where applicable
-
Restrict or object to our processing of your data
-
Request a copy of your data in a portable format
-
Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at maca@macamarealestate.com.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with Spain's data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) — www.aepd.es.
Cookie Policy
This website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to make the site work properly and, where enabled, to understand how visitors use it.
Necessary / essential cookies
Required for the website to function (e.g. remembering your session, load balancing, security). These are set automatically by our hosting platform (Wix) and cannot be switched off, as the site would not work correctly without them.
Functional cookies
Remember choices you make (e.g. language, previously viewed pages) to improve your experience.
Analytics / performance cookies
Help us understand how visitors use the site (e.g. which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay) so we can improve it.
Marketing / advertising cookies
Used to track visitors for advertising purposes (Google Ads remarketing tag). These cookies are only set after you give your consent through our cookie banner, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
Your choices
Where cookies are not strictly necessary, you will be asked for your consent via a cookie banner when you first visit the site, and you can change your preferences at any time by clicking on the Usercentrics icon on the left bottom of your screen. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how the site works.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be set by third parties whose services are embedded on this site (for example, social media buttons/feeds, or video embeds). These third parties have their own cookie and privacy policies, which we don't control — see Wix's own list of integrated services for details.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we start using a new tool or service. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
